Setting a ‘Coming Soon’ page on Showit

Creating a ‘Coming Soon’ page (or Landing Page) on the Showit platform is a straightforward process, allowing you to inform your visitors about an upcoming website or project while gathering interest. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set up your ‘Coming Soon’ page.

Step 1: Create A New Page

On the Site Tab, under Pages, press the + button to add a new page. Select ‘Add Blank Page’.

You can name this ‘Coming Soon’, or any name you wish to call it.

Step 2: Design Your Coming Soon Or Landing Page

Commonly for Coming Soon pages, a background image is displayed with a ‘Coming Soon’ title, followed by some body text.

Here is a basic example of what you could use as a Coming Soon, or Landing page.

If your website isn’t finished, and you’re using a Coming Soon page, it’s a good idea to ensure you haven’t included any other canvases such as Menus, Headers, or Footers. This ensures your visitors aren’t able to access other pages that may not be finished. That being said, it’s important to know that your website is still live, and any page can still be access via the URL.

On the Canvas tab, on the right-hand side of the page, change ‘Canvas Type’ to Window Height on both mobile and desktop. This will ensure the page fills the whole screen.

Step 3: Set Coming Soon Page As Your Homepage

On the Site Tab, under Pages, find your new page. Click the 3 dots on the right-hand side. Now select ‘Set As Homepage’.
